WESTWOOD COTTAGES HISTORY

A third generation and family tradition, Westwood Cottages were started by Fernando and Gladys Potter in 1950 with the help of their son Fred. They started building one cottage at a time starting with the small cottage called the Honeymoon Cottage, which was expanded several years later. Over the years a total of 10 cottages were built—all with a beautiful lake view. In the early 90's Fred and his wife Jean continued the tradition by getting to know the families that have returned over the years and have become good friends. Now, Jean and Fred's son, Jamie and his wife Sarahjo continue the tradition, greeting old friends and continuing to make new ones. Vacationing at Westwood Cottages has become a summer tradition for several generations of many families continuing to make new memories year after year at their Maine Lakefront Cottage rental of choice.

"Our Westwood Cottages trips have been my favorite time of year for as long as I can remember! My family has been coming up since I was a kid. It's a lovely place to make so many new memories with my own son. He thinks we live in Cottage #5! The town is close by and has great shops and hiking trails, there’s really no need to leave. It’s great having a kitchen to prepare meals. I love waking up and looking out at the lake. There's nothing better than coffee on the porch or lakeside in an Adirondack chair. The owners are always so chill and it’s great catching up with them."
